Tragic Azerbaijan Airlines Plane Crash: Over 40 passengers Are Likely Deceased

An Azerbaijan Airlines plane has recently crashed in Russia’s Chechnya, which was en route to Grozny from Baku, claiming over 40 deaths (As per the Associated Press report). Before this incident took place, Russian news agencies added that the aircraft J2-8243 was rerouted because of foggy weather. 

An unverified video of the crash, operated by Azerbaijan, shows the car bustling into flames as it hits the ground on a seashore, and this video is sparking all over the internet. 

As per the officials of the airline, Embraer 190 Jet was heading towards Grozny from Baku, which is the capital city of the Chechnya region in the southern part of Russia, but amid poor weather conditions, the flight had to make an emergency landing around 3 km. 

Based on certain commercial aviation-routing websites, a flight was tracked flying in the north of its actual scheduled route, near the west coast of the sea, and later, the flight was either disappeared or no longer recorded. However, a few times later, it reappeared on the opposite, near Aktau airport, crashing into the beach. 

Fatalities as Reported.

One of the aircraft of Azerbaijan Airlines, J2-8243, which had a total of 62 passengers and 5 crew members, met with a tragic plane crash accident near Aktau in Kazakhstan, resulting in taking up to 39 lives. (Kazakshtan’s Ministry of Emergencies).

  • As per the official Russian aviation watchdog statement, based on the provided plane crash accidents, the pilot made an emergency landing after a bird strike. 
  • As per Russia’s Interfax News Agency, the authorities said that they are still scrutinizing the accident from all possible dimensions to determine the loopholes, causes, technical issues, etc. 
  • A consolation over the demise of passengers in an Azerbaijan Airlines plane crash has been expressed by Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Azerbaijan President, Ilham Aliyev.
