If you are traveling with a pet, there is a specific amount that you have to pay for your pet's journey. These charges depend on the class, time, destination, fare type, size/weight of the pet, and the services you have chosen. However, the range for these charges is from $500 to $800, and these charges can be paid during the flight booking process.

What is the policy for pet travel on Emirates?

There are certain terms and conditions that you need to keep in account while traveling with a pet at Emirates Airlines. Having some specific knowledge about the journey and what are the restrictions the airlines have imposed will make the journey a lot more comfortable and pleasant. The pets are allowed on the flight or on Cargo depending on their size and weight: 

  • Only the guide dogs who are there to assist the blind will be allowed to travel in the cabin.
  • Only the pet Falcons, Cats, Birds, and Dogs are allowed on the flight, with breed restrictions.
  • Make sure that the age of your Dogs and Cats must be more than four months, smaller than that will not be able to travel with Emirates.
  • If the flight is longer than fifteen hours, then your pet will be transported in a Cargo and bringing them to the flight is not permitted. 
  • If you are traveling to Dubai, then proper care and assistance will be provided at the airport to your dogs and cat. The staff will look after their health, food and everything that is required to keep them calm and pleasant until they will be handed to you. 
  • To have a pet on the flight cabin, your journey time must be under 7 hours.
  • Make sure you submit all the documents required, such as the ticket, passport, VISA (if applicable), government issues identity, and the health certificate of the pet.
  • The health certificate of the pet must conclude that they are fit to fly. 
  • If you are traveling with puppies or kittens then they must be at least 15 weeks old. 
  • The size of the kennel of the pet must be 25 mm x 25 mm (1 inDog (domestic) x 1 in) for dogs and 19 mm x 19 mm (¾ in x ¾ in) for cats.
  • The container should be clean and comfy and have all the facilities that will provide comfort to the pet. 
  • You need to make sure that the container should have proper ventilation so the pets do not face any troubles. 
  • The container should be big enough that pets can move, stand, turn, and lie down without any problems or troubles. 

What breeds are not allowed on Emirates Skycargo?

To ensure the safety of your pets and fellow passengers, the airline has restricted specific animal breeds to carry. These breeds can be dangerous to travel with, and the list for the dog and cat is listed below:

Dog's Breed: If you have a dog from any of the mentioned breeds, then you cannot travel with Emirates Airlines:

  • Tibetan Spaniel

Cat's Breed: It is well known that cats can be moody and sometimes may not even listen to your instructions; however, to ensure everyone's safety, there are certain breeds that are prohibited from carrying on the flight, and all of them are listed below:

  • Himalayan
