What is the baggage allowance of Thai Airways?

Before you start the journey with Thai Airways, it is important to have all the information related to the baggage so you can accordingly pack your bags and start with the journey. We have mentioned all the terms and conditions of the baggage allowance by the airline with the restrictions they have imposed. We have divided the policy into four parts so it will be easy for you to go through it:

Checked Baggage: Whatever you pack in the bag that is supposed to be transported by the airline should be the items that will not be needed during the flight. These bags will be given to you after the flight will be landed:

  • Two checked bags are allowed free of cost if you are traveling with Economy Class on Thai Airways.
  • The weight of each bag should not be more than 32 kg, and if that happens the airline may reject your luggage.
  • Your bags should be under the given size by the airline, which is 158 cm or 62 inches. The airline does not accept bags more than this size.
  • Your bags need to be in good condition as the airline will not accept bags that are damaged or broken.
  • Bags should not be tied with ropes and wires as this can harm other bags during the journey.

Carry-On: This is the luggage that you carry on the flight. These bags should contain all the items that you may require during the journey and are delicate enough to be transported in the checked luggage:

  • The weight of the checked bag should not be more than 7 kg.
  • The airline has given size dimensions as well for the carry-on bag, and it should be under 56cm  × 45cm × 25cm. If your bag is bigger than the given dimensions, then it may not be able to fit under the overhead cabin on the flight.
  • Ensure that your bag should be easy to carry and does not create trouble for you during the flight.

Personal Items: With the carry-on bags, you are allowed to bring one personal item. This item should be under the instructions of the airline; therefore, we have listed the items you can bring as personal items:

  • Make sure that these personal items should be small and handier.
  • The personal item can be considered an item like a backpack, purse, handbag, or any small musical instrument such as a Guitar or violin etc.
  • You can also bring items like books, cameras, blankets, a baby cot, a walking cane, binoculars, a kid stroller, etc.
  • Informing the airline about this before your journey starts is better than witnessing issues at the time of boarding.

Prohibited Items: There are some items that are not allowed to be brought on the flight, and we have listed them below:

  • Any item that could be dangerous for fellow passengers will not be permitted on the flight, and these items include pistols, shotguns, stun batons, toy guns, tasers, revolvers, etc.
  • You cannot bring needles, knives, scissors, lighters, cutters, or syringes, and if you are bringing them for any medical reason, then you should inform the airline beforehand.
  • There are some gases and liquids that the airline does not allow and should not be brought on the flight without the airline's recognition or permission.
